# Course's compliance terminology: Mandatory or Required?

### How to set a course's Compliance terminology

Courses that learners have to complete to be compliant have the default name **'Mandatory'**.

If this terminology doesn't suit your organisation, you can change it to **'Required'**. Follow the instructions below on how to do so.

1. You'll find the settings in the **Organisation** tab.

2. Locate the **Organisation Preferences**, click the dropdown menu beside the _ 'refer to required courses as' _ and choose from **required**.

3. Your 'must-do' courses will now be called **Required** for your learners.
